Total War: Warhammer is nearing its launch date, and that means The Creative Assembly needs to offer a closer look at the various battlefields that players will explore in the strategy game and the elements that make each of them unique.

Hel Fenn is the subject of a new video from the developers, an eerie space located somewhere in Eastern Sylvania, featuring large swamps that can affect army movement and make it important to employ flying units and to use positioning to stop the enemy from advancing effectively.

The Creative Assembly says that it will offer more information about the battlefields that will be featured in the strategy title during the coming weeks.

The Games Workshop-created universe is a varied one when it comes to locations, and the studio will try to explore as many environments as possible and create interesting tactical puzzles for gamers to solve using their own choice of units and heroes.

Each of the four races featured in Total War: Warhammer is designed to be entirely unique when it comes to both the strategy and the tactical levels of the title, with the Empire boasting the most balanced forces while the Vampire Counts have no ranged units and the Dwarves are focused on the defensive.

The Creative Assembly has big plans for the fantasy setting

The coming video game is the first in which the team abandons the historical settings that have made the franchise a success to explore a new world that features magic, flying creatures, powerful monsters and factions that can raise the dead to build an army.

The Creative Assembly is trying to stay close to the universe created by Games Workshop, including when it comes to the design of battlefields and tweaks made to some game mechanics.

Total War: Warhammer will be launched on May 24 on the PC, and gamers can place a pre-order so that they can use the Chaos warriors faction on the campaign map, with a new set of units and Legendary Lords.

According to the studio, the plan is to deliver some free updates for the game to eliminate bugs and to introduce better balance for units while also offering free downloadable content that will add extra troops to take into battle and more heroes for the featured factions.

The team is also planning to add more factions and Legendary Lords to Total War: Warhammer after launch via paid DLC.
