Gamers can use trolls, giants and spiders

Video game developer The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA are ready to celebrate Christmas with the Total War fan community by announcing two very important pieces of news about the coming Warhammer experience: the list of units that gamers will be able to control when playing as the Greenskins and the locations where all the factions will start the campaign.

Gamers who want to focus on destruction, fast assaults, and massive armies will be able to take control of the Orcs, the Night Goblins, and other smaller races, like the trolls and the Giants, which associated to try and take out the other factions of the Old World.

The Greenskins are led by both legendary heroes, Grimgor Ironhide, renowned for his violence and his strength, and by Azhag the Slaughterer, an able tactician who is also dabbling in the dark arts.

The Creative Assembly states, "When word spreads of a truly might Warboss however, momentum builds quickly. With each successive victory, more and more Greenskin mobs join the horde. Eventually, these patchwork armies merge to become a WAAAGH! - An unstoppable Green tide that leaves nothing but ruin in its wake."

The armies of the Greenskins in Total War: Warhammer are adaptable because of the races involved, but they also need to be constantly engaged with enemies to stay disciplined and effective.

The shaman is one of the most powerful units, consuming fungi to augment their powers, and the faction can also recruit powerful trolls, who can regenerate even in the midst of combat and can use acid in their vomit to take out armored enemies.

The Arachnarok spider is another unusual recruit, a powerful creature that allows goblins to ride on its back to create a capable assault combo that can breach enemy lines.

Greenskins use giants and more in Total War: Warhammer

A doom diver catapult launches goblins with wings at enemy targets, and the giant can be recruited with promises of food and battle, powerful enough to take on entire regiments and to squash enemies when they move.

Giant wolves, a powerful wyvern, called Skullmuncha, war boats, chariots, classic orc boyz, and spider riders are also part of the Greenskin armies.

There's a lot of flexibility in the roster, but the goblins and most of the orcs will probably suffer from morale problems, which can cause issues if one of the heroes or a powerful unit cannot turn the tide of a battle early on.

The start position map for Total War: Warhammer shows that The Empire starts off relatively far from its rivals, which means that gamers who choose it will be able to spend some time developing before facing powerful rivals.

Meanwhile, the Greenskins, the Dwarves, and the Vampire Counts are nearby from the start, which means that conflict will be a constant down south.

The map does not show where the Chaos warriors faction will start for those players who have access to it based on a pre-order.

Total War: Warhammer will be offered only on the PC on April 28 of next year.
