Total War: Warhammer is moving closer to its launch date and the development team at The Creative Assembly are delivering another big video linked to the title, which is set to show gamers how they can tackle one of the unique quest battles associated with the Greenskin faction as they seek to find Azhag's 'Ard armor.

The lord who's leading the faction is known as the Slaughterer and he needs to use his forces in complex battle to secure an iconic piece of equipment that can boost his abilities and give his faction a chance of standing up to the Chaos forces.

The 12-minute video shows a range of mechanics for Total War: Warhammer, including guard mode, the way magic can shape the battlefield and take out units and how the Greenskins use their unique troops in order to overwhelm enemy forces.

The Creative Assembly says that the entire quest chain and the main features of the strategy title are still work in progress, but the footage should offer a good overview of how they are mixing the universe created by Games Workshop with the core elements of the strategy genre.

The Greenskins will be best suited for players who like masses of troops and frontal assaults, although one of their Lords is well-versed in the arts of dark magic, and gamers who use them will be able to create powerful Waaaghs on the strategy map in order to acquire more territory.

Total War: Warhammer will be launched on April 28 only on the PC and players can place a pre-order in order to get access to a new Chaos warrior faction that they can play as.

The series will deliver a trilogy of fantasy-inspired titles

Total War: Warhammer portrays the Old World as it no longer exists in the main universe maintained by Games Workshop, and gamers will be able to basically see how it ends under the assault of powerful chaotic deities and their avatar.

Publisher SEGA has suggested that this is the first title in a series of three, with the following two probably exploring the new state of the Warhammer fantasy universe.

For this first installment, The Creative Assembly is offering players a chance to play as the Empire, the Dwarves, the Greenskins and the Vampire Counts, which have received very limited details so far.

On the battlefield players will be able to use a variety of powerful and unique units, including Steam tanks, and they can also deploy frying forces for the first time in the history of the series.

On the campaign map, each of the features factions will have its unique mechanics, some of which have been shown on video until now, and for the first time a race cannot capture the entire map because of a new regional occupation system.

The Creative Assembly has also said that it has a separate team that's working on a classic history-inspired installment in the Total War franchise, although no information about it will be offered to fans for a while.
