Because you can pay someone to say something, not mean it

The battle between Android and iOS sometimes involves people bashing one or another publicly, and the more popular the influencer is, the bigger the chances for this strategy to have the desired outcome.

There are moments, however, when this approach doesn’t work exactly as expected, mostly because, as CultofMac emphasizes, and I truly agree with them, you can pay someone to say something, but you can’t pay them to actually mean it.

This is what happened recently in the case of a tweet of Anushka Sharma, a famous Bollywood actress who has millions of fans not only in India, but also across the rest of the world.

Anushka recently took to Twitter to praise Google’s very own Pixel with a tweet that has a clear message: Google Pixel 2 takes awesome pictures and you should give it a try.

“Look at this beautiful boy #Pixel2XL #TeamPixel @GoogleIndia,” the tweet notes, pointing to two different photos that were included in the message and which were supposed to highlight the camera performance of Google’s phone.

Apple fanboys

But as YouTuber Marques Brownlee noticed, the tweet comes from an iPhone, which Anushka was most likely using when praising the Pixel.

Someone suggested on Twitter that the photo was taken with a Pixel and then transferred and posted from an iPhone, but as MKBHD says, this is clearly a hell of an effort to avoid using the Pixel.

Anushka Sharma isn’t the first celebrity involved in such a blunder and she certainly won’t be the last one. Even United States President Donald Trump used to bash Apple and call for a boycott of their products using an iPhone.

More recently, Trump has even become an Apple fanboy, using two different iPhones regularly, as well as an iPad which he most often refers to as “the flat one.”
