US President appears to be quite a big Apple fan

In addition to using an iPhone to tweet his thoughts at 3 AM every once in a while, United States President Donald Trump also owns an iPad, though, for him, the tablet has a different name.

ABC News White House correspondent Tara Palmeri recently tweeted some interesting bits about how Donald Trump interacts with technology, explaining that he’s actually using an iPad that he calls “the flat one.”

Now, we’re not going to try to guess why Trump calls the iPad like that because this is pretty much impossible, as Apple’s tablet is by no means flat or flatter than other tablets. But for some reason, calling it “the flat one” helps the President find the iPad easier, so as long as this does the job, that’s perfectly alright. At least he doesn’t refer to the iPad as “the big iPhone.”

In case you’re wondering, the iPad’s purpose is to help the President “read things,” so this is quite an upgrade, given the previous rumors that Trump requested his staff to actually print online articles for him to read.

Apple fanboyism

On the other hand, it’s also important to note that Trump appears to be quite committed to the Apple ecosystem. The US President owns two different iPhones, one of which you’ve seen being used for tweeting occasionally. The other iPhone serves for managing calls exclusively.

Donald Trump being such a big fan of Apple products is a little surprising, especially because he’s been an avid critic of the company during the presidential campaign.

Trump blasted Apple for not helping the FBI break into the iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino shooters and called for the company to make the smartphone locally. He eventually changed his mind, partially thanks to Apple becoming more committed to the US market and announcing investments worth $350 billion.
