14 DAY TRIAL // The HP Elite X3 is undoubtedly the best Windows phone available at the moment, even though its dimensions might not appeal to everyone, but it’s the $800 price tag what made it quite a hard buy for so many fans of the platform.
Fortunately, Microsoft is offering a major discount for the HP Elite X3 in its stores in the United States, so instead of $800, you can now get the device for just $600.
The $200 discount is available until March 31, obviously as long as supplies last, so if you want to buy the best Windows phone right now, you's better hurry up.
The productivity machine
Although at first glance it’s just a phone, the HP Elite X3 is so much more than that, and it all starts with support for Continuum. The device comes with support for Microsoft’s flagship Windows 10 feature and can instantly convert into a PC using a dedicated dock.
At the same time, it comes with both a fingerprint reader and an iris scanner, but also with specs that are impressive for the Windows Phone world to say the least.
The device is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor (which until the arrival of the Snapdragon 835 was the best mobile chip on the market) and features 4GB RAM. The 5.96-inch display has a resolution of 2560x1440 and is covered with Gorilla Glass 4 for additional protection.
There are also several premium features on the phone, including Bang & Olufsen speakers, as well as HP Workspace integration to run your Win32 programs from a PC using cloud power.
The HP Elite X3 is pretty much the Surface Phone that we never had and there’s a chance that an upgrade for this phone is prepared for later this year. HP silently showcased this new model at MWC, but up until now, the company hasn’t provided any details as to when and if it plans to upgrade the Elite X3.
