14 DAY TRIAL // It’s “bring-your-leak-to-work-day,” and after seeing that the Galaxy S8 leaked in a photo with a gigantic Samsung logo on the front, here’s something for Apple fanboys.
Concept designer Imran Taylor has created his own interpretation of the iPhone 8, imagining what the next model of Apple’s flagship product could look like, all based on the existing information that reached the web so far.
First and foremost, when viewed from the front, this iPhone looks absolutely stunning. It’s made from glass, just like some people familiar with Apple’s plans suggested, and uses a metal side frame, as the older and super-beautiful iPhone 4. All of these without giving up on the actual look brought by the iPhone 6 and then slightly improved by the iPhone 7.
The flat stainless steel frame just makes sense on this device, and it houses the side buttons, as well as the dual speakers at the bottom of the phone, plus the Lightning port.
There’s also a Smart Connector on the back, which is a feature that’s currently available on the iPad Pro and rumored to land on the iPhone at some point for more connectivity options, possibly with support for external accessories such as detachable keyboards or other means of charging.
Vertical dual-camera system
What we don’t like, however, is the vertical dual-camera on the back. Rumor has it that Apple could indeed go for a design that would reposition the dual cameras on the iPhone 8 Plus, and this concept imagines what the whole thing could look like.
While it’s not as ew as the big Samsung logo on the rumored Galaxy S8, the vertical dual-camera doesn’t seem to match the rest of the phone, as it also creates a bump that’s likely to be super-noticeable when the phone sleeps on a flat surface.
The designer imagines the phone in the typical colors, including white, gold, and Rose Gold, and you can see them in the photos below. There’s also a side-to-side display with zero bezels, which is also rumored to make it to the iPhone, as well as other features that you can check out in the video below.
