Gamers might be able to play matches with bots

Star Wars Battlefront was one of the big launches of last year and the development team at DICE and publisher Electronic Arts have also revealed big downloadable content pack launches for 2016, designed to keep the community engaged with the shooter for as long as possible.

The fan community has also been asking for the two companies to allow for more of the title's modes available offline, allowing gamers who might not want to deal with other people to populate the battles with bots.

DICE seems to have been listening to the players and is apparently working to make the transition from online to offline smoother and to offer modes to those who are uninterested in dealing with other gamers or just want to train and improve their performance.

The information comes from the official forums of Star Wars Battlefront where a customer representative is quoted as saying, "The developers are working on it and they have progressed quite a bit. Hopefully, they will soon."

This is just an answer to a player query and does not yet represent an official DICE announcement, but it's enough to give players hope that they will get an official announcement and even a launch at some point in 2016.

Star Wars Battlefront is set to get access to more free content during the year, but the developers have not made it clear what they are planning to deliver for those who are still playing the shooter and are unwilling to pay for the coming DLC.

It's unlikely that any free content for the experience will be as expansive as Battle of Jakku, which was associated with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass covers eight new heroes

There are four big DLC packs set to arrive, probably a few months apart, and DICE has explained that it wants to expand the game by building on its core systems.

There are eight new Heroes and Villains that will be delivered, although there are yet no clues about their identity, and they can be used to play another four unique modes, each of them associated with one content drop.

DICE and Electronic Arts are also planning to introduce more weapons, new items and expansion for the Star Cards system, making it easier for gamers to find cool builds to use in their favorite modes.

The multiplayer focus of Star Wars Battlefront has disappointed some members of the fan community, and the addition of offline and bot-powered gameplay might make the title more interesting in the long term.

DICE has also made it clear that it does not plan to introduce any The Force Awakens content in the current installment of the shooter, but Electronic Arts has already made it clear that it will deliver more titles in the coming years.

Another Star Wars-themed video game at the publisher is being created by a team at BioWare, and a second one, which might feature some elements from the canceled 1313, is being planned by a team that's led by Amy Hennig.
