14 DAY TRIAL // With just a few hours left until the official unveiling, leaks on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 continue to surface online. The latest comes in the form of a new batch of images showing the smartphone and its packaging. In addition, word is that some US carriers will be offering free devices with the purchase of a Note 7.
Images of the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 have leaked once again via @stagueve, and this time, they show the handset in a couple of color variants together with the official box. The pictures reveal the Galaxy Note 7 in black, gold, and silver color versions.
The packaging gives us a glimpse of the Note 7’s specs and reads that the phone will come with a 64-bit octa-core processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. It will also pack a rear camera of 12MP and a 5MP selfie snapper. The device will have IP68 certification and 64GB of internal memory, with the option to expand to 256GB using a microSD card.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 7 should start on August 3
The planogram of US carrier Sprint has also leaked online, indicating that the Note 7 will come with a rear camera featuring “fast autofocus for photos even in low light” and a more-precise S Pen. Sprint calls the Galaxy Note 7 “big, bold, beautiful” and reveals that it will sport a dual-edge display.
9To5Google reports that T-Mobile will be offering a Samsung Gear Fit 2 with the purchase of a Galaxy Note 7. Sprint will also up the promo to stay on top of other carriers and have customers pick between the free Gear Fit 2 and a 256GB memory card. Other US carriers, like Verizon, AT&T, and Best Buy, are expected to make similar promotions.
Samsung is set to introduce the Galaxy Note 7 and a new Gear VR in just a few hours in New York, during the Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event. Numerous reports say that pre-orders for the smartphone will start on August 3 while the new Gear VR will be available at Verizon stores beginning August 4.
