14 DAY TRIAL // With only a few hours left until the official unveiling of the Galaxy Note 7, leaks on the upcoming smartphone continue to surface online. The latest shows that pre-orders for the device could, in fact, start on August 3, while some screenshots show a new battery-saving resolution switch.
Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 is depicted in new images that have leaked today, as pointed by Steve Hemmerstoffer. The pictures don't provide any new information on the device, but they do showcase the gold color variant with the trademark wallpaper on the display. The S Pen isn't shown in the images.
However, screenshots of the Galaxy Note 7 have also leaked today, revealing that Samsung is preparing a surprise for fans of the device. The images have surfaced at Android Galaxys and indicate that Samsung's new feature will allow users to adjust the phone's resolution and scale it down to 720p HD if they wish.
Galaxy Note 7 might come with a multilevel power saving mode
The smartphone could feature a resolution slider in the display settings, allowing users to switch from the Quad HD display to an HD panel. The tool would come in handy especially when users wish to save on battery and don't need to conduct tasks that would use the display's 2560 x 1440 p resolution capacity.
In addition, the Note 7 will supposedly come with a multilevel power saving mode, coupled with the option to adjust the screen's brightness so that users could save battery. Samsung mentions that some apps and options might not work optimally at lower resolutions, but that was to be expected. The Galaxy Note 7 is said to come with a 3,500mAh battery.
Also today, new leaks have shown that the S Pen on the Galaxy Note 7 will receive three new features, including a translator, a tool for switching between applications and one for zooming on certain elements on the display.
Confirmation of all of these rumors might be provided during tomorrow's unveiling, which is set to take place at 11.00 am EST in New York.
