14 DAY TRIAL // Sony unveiled two exciting smartphones during this year’s edition of MWC in Barcelona, one of which has just gone up for pre-order in Europe. The Xperia XZs is available for €649 in the Netherlands and comes bundled with a free speaker.
Customers can pre-order the Xperia XZs at retailer Belsimpel and will get a free Sony SRS-XB30 speaker, worth €169, if they get it until April 2. The Xperia XZs will be available in three European countries, including Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
During MWC, Sony confirmed that the smartphone would be launched on April 5 and its price would be of around $700. The free speaker offer is only available for Dutch customers, but the phone could reach UK retailers in the coming weeks.
Xperia XZ Premium is also available in Europe
Pre-orders for Xperia XZ Premium have started recently in Europe. The phone is currently available at retailers in the UK for prices starting at £640. However, the device won’t ship until the first week of June, possibly because it’s equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and stock is insufficient for now.
Xperia XZs offers an upgrade to the company’s Xperia XZ flagship, featuring the new Motion Eye camera which can record 960fps Super slow motion videos and use Predictive Capture features that start recording before the user actually presses the button.
It has a 19MP rear camera with autofocus and 4k recording, while the front camera capacity reaches 13MP with 22mm wide angle lens. Display size is 5.2 inches with Full HD resolution, while the phone runs SD820 SoC and features 4GB of RAM.
In the Netherlands, Xperia XZs is currently offered in Blue and Silver colors with 32GB of internal storage, but Sony did announce a variant with 64GB of memory. Battery capacity is 2,900mAh, while Xperia XZs runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. All in all, it’s an improvement over the Xperia XZ, especially in the camera department.
