Last year, Skype launched a major update to its Android version for smartphones, and recently it has implemented the same changes on Android tablets. Skype 7.0 for Android tablets comes with a redesigned interface for devices with larger screens.
Skype has also implemented multi-pane view, powerful search tools, and many more features to the version for Android tablets. The new tablet interface has been redesigned from the ground up and received a new floating action button that allows users to send messages and start voice or video calls with friends or groups.
The new interface also provides users with quick access to Skype bots, which are chatbots for interacting with users. The feature allows users to loop other bots in the conversation, and it can provide message suggestions based on the data it gathered from previous user interactions.
The new Skype for Android tablets allows users to multitask faster. It comes with a multi-pane view in landscape mode, enabling users to send messages, files and check their latest conversations while on video or voice call.
Call quality and performance were improved
Skype has brought a new change to the sign-in page, when users log into Skype, and the application displays the list of contacts on the smartphone directly in the Skype contact list so that users can call or message their friends faster.
It comes with an ‘invite’ button for sending messages to friends to join Skype. The search bar has been improved, and Skype has added the option to find contacts, chats, groups, and bots much faster.
Skype has also announced that it improved call quality and performance in Skype 7.0 for Android tablets. The update is available on the Skype Google Play page.
