Add a new puppet to your party, The Necrophage

Necrophage's Curse is the second DLC for Shadows: Awakening and just like the first one, The Chromaton Chronicles, introduces a new playable character, which can be picked up during your playthrough or right from the beginning.

If you've already started the game, but haven't yet finished it, there's really no point in getting the DLC at full price. However, if you like playing a lich mage class and you've just picked up the game, Necrophage's Curse is a more interesting DLC than The Chromaton Chronicles.

The Necrophage's Curse sends players to the Necropolis, a new location found inside the Kyallisar, an imposing city that you'll visit after the first few acts of the game. The quest that will allow you to add a new puppet to your band of misfits requires a team of level 17 characters, but if you play on normal, you shouldn't have any issues if your characters are one or two levels lower.

The Necrophage has been created by the Master Necromancer for reasons unknown, but we know it's the only undead creature of its kind to hate both living and undead creatures. The Necrophage's skills reflect its undead origins: Undead Legion, Haunting Ghost, Chilling Touch, Leech, Contagion, and Ritual.

As a class, the Necrophage is a mage, so you'll probably have to choose between Evia and this one, although Evia can't be replaced if you chose her as your main puppet from the beginning of the game.

Even though it does come with a whole array of interesting skills, the Necrophage is quite squishy and slow, regardless of how many points you put in Endurance and Dexterity. I did try to keep the new puppet in my party for a longer time to see how it feels to play a lich, but it doesn't really excel at anything combat-wise.

I think it's safe to say that aside from the flavor it offers, Necrophage's Curse isn't going to change the way you play Shadows: Awakening for the better (or worse for that matter). Don't pick this one up at full price, get it when it's on sale if you want to try out a new puppet.
