14 DAY TRIAL // It looks like Samsung is closing in on Android 7.0 Nougat's release and now it wants more people to test it and provide feedback. The Galaxy Beta program allows Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge owners to download and install Android 7.0 Nougat before the update goes live for everyone.
However, only a limited number of Galaxy S7/S7 edge owners have been accepted into the beta, which means not all who wanted a spot got in.
The beta testing currently happens in the UK and Samsung has already pushed three Android 7.0 Nougat beta builds to testers and is about to deploy the fourth.
The good news is Samsung has decided to reopen the Galaxy Beta program for Galaxy S7/S7 edge, so if you've been anxious to test Android 7.0 Nougat, now would be a good time to try and enroll in the beta program.
Obviously, the number of spots for the beta program is limited, so not all those who apply will be chosen. Once again, the recruitment of beta testers is made in the UK only, but we have hopes that users in other countries will be accepted in the beta program beginning December.
In fact, according to a new report, Samsung has already confirmed in an email to one of the Galaxy S7 users that it will start the second phase of registrations later this week in the United States.
Each of the three Android 7.0 Nougat beta builds released by Samsung until now brought loads of bug fixes and improvements, and lots of new features, too.
Still, there are a couple of known issues that haven't been addressed yet, which is probably one of the reasons Samsung wants to extend the beta program to even more Galaxy S7/S7 edge users.
We expect Samsung to be able to start pushing Android 7.0 Nougat to Galaxy S7/S7 edge devices sometime in December. Hopefully, no issues will prevent the South Korean company from delivering the long-awaited update next month.
