14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has yet to deploy the highly-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update for any of its smartphones, but that should be fixed soon, as the South Korean company is now testing the update.
A limited number of Galaxy S7 edge owners can now test the Android 7.0 Nougat on their smartphones if they have been accepted into the Galaxy Beta Program.
However, since Android 7.0 Nougat brings quite a lot of new features and improvements, Samsung has decided to use the time until the update gets released to inform Galaxy S7/S7 edge users about these changes.
The handset maker released an Android 7.0 Nougat consumer guide for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, so those who want to know everything about the changes in the update before it hits their phones can now download the manual.
Keep in mind, though, that while the manual contains around 20 slides that show some of the most important new features and improvements added in the update, there are many more that haven't been covered in the consumer guide due to lack of space.
It's also worth noting that aside from the usual changes that Android 7.0 Nougat brings to the Galaxy S7 edge, Samsung announced some of its own, which aren't part of the build that Google released to the handset manufacturer.
One of these exclusive new features is the ability to change the Galaxy S7 edge's resolution in special cases, which will reduce battery consumption.
Some other changes to the messaging will be implemented too, but there are many others that you can read about in the consumer guide.
Although Samsung is hard at work to bring Android 7.0 Nougat to its current flagship phones, that might not happen until the end of the year.
Other devices like the Galaxy S6/S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2 won't be getting the update until next year.
