Samsung is expected to reveal the Galaxy Note 7 in about two weeks' time, but it seems that the phablet won't be the only device coming from the company in the near future. Samsung is reportedly working on a successor to the Galaxy Tab S2, which might arrive on September 1.

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Tab S3 will surely be a proper tablet that will grab the attention of the market. In April, the company unveiled an updated version of the Galaxy Tab S2, with a new processor, but nothing much besides that. All other specs remained the same, which prompted some talk on when and whether the South Korean giant would release a high-end tablet this year.

A report from Russian technology journalist Eldar Murtazin shows that Samsung will be releasing the Galaxy Tab S3 on September 1, one month after the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to hit the market. The information should be taken with a grain of salt, considering that it's the first time a rumored launch date has surfaced on the Internet. Some say that Samsung might actually unveil a new Gear S3 smartwatch, and not the Galaxy Tab S3, on this date.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S3 could come in two variants

The tablet could come in two variants. While one of them recently surfaced on GFXBench, the other was spotted being granted TENAA certification. Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is expected to come in one variant with a 9.7-inch display while the screen size on the other version could reach 8 inches.

Still, both of them are supposed to have screen resolutions of 2048 x 1536. They will run Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The variant with an 8-inch display will most likely sport a 4,000mAh battery.

Aside from today's leak, there's no other information to confirm a launch for September, but more specifics are bound to surface in the coming weeks.
