14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung is expected to release its latest flagship in about three weeks, but the South Korean company has been releasing various low- and mid-range smartphones as well, although some bring only few improvements over their predecessors. Today, the company has unveiled the Galaxy On5 Pro and Galaxy On7 Pro in India.
The two handsets are sequels to the India-exclusive Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7, respectively, but they bring few upgrades over these models released last year. Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro features the same display size of 5 inches with TFT LCD and 720 pixels resolution.
It comes with Exynos 3475 quad-core processor with 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 and Mali-T720 graphics processing unit. RAM capacity was slightly increased from 1.5GB to 2GB, and internal memory now reaches 16GB, compared to 8GB in the previous model.
In addition, the device sports an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP unit on the front, as well as a 2,600mAh battery. Other specs include 4G LTE connectivity, dual-SIM support, and Android Marshmallow 6.0, compared to the previous model that ran Android Lollipop 5.1 out of the box. Moreover, it supports S Bike Mode and Ultra Data Saving Mode.
The two smartphones come in multiple color variants
Galaxy On7 Pro is more powerful than the On5, but it's very similar to its predecessor, the On7. The handset packs a 5.5-inch LCD display with 720 pixel resolution and a Snapdragon 410 chip with quad-core 1.2 Cortex-A53 processor coupled with Adreno 306 graphics processing unit. In addition, it has 2GB of RAM, and internal memory reaches 16GB.
Rear camera capacity is 13MP while a 5MP unit can be found on the front. The phone has a more powerful battery compared to the On5 Pro, namely a 3000mAh one. It runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 as well and has 4G LTE connectivity and dual-SIM support.
Galaxy On5 Pro is available on Amazon India in Black or Gold color variants for the price of $137 while the On7 Pro comes in the same color variants, but its price is a bit higher, more exactly, $167.
