Samsung unveiled its latest flagship smartphone on August 2, and pre-orders have already been live for a few days. The company has reported a record number of pre-orders in multiple countries around the world, including Canada.

Samsung reports record pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea, with 200,000 units pre-ordered in about two days since the smartphone was announced. In addition, the number of pre-orders has managed to surpass those reported for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.

A new report from Mobile Syrup states that the Galaxy Note 7 has recorded outstanding pre-orders in Canada as well. The Blue Coral variant has recorded a very high demand, compared to other color versions that are available. The Galaxy Note 7 can be found in Canada at Bell, Rogers, Telus, Wind, Videotron, Koodo, and Eastlink. Customers will have to pay between $0 at carriers and $1,049.99 unlocked.

The Galaxy Note 7 will come with Snapdragon 820 chipset in Canada

The Galaxy Note 7 won’t come in a gold variant in Canada or the US, but it is available in Black Onyx, Silver Titanium, and, of course, Blue Coral. Samsung released the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge with an Exynos 8890 chipset in Canada, but now the country will get the Snapdragon 820 variant of the Note 7.

The chipsets are somewhat similar, with the exception that the Exynos provides improved battery life. On the other hand, Snapdragon 820 supports Qualcomm’s X12 LTE, which is compatible with 4X4 MIMO. This means that the smartphone could support better network connectivity and increased battery efficiency.

Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Note 7 on August 19 in Canada, as well as in the US. The smartphone could come with a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage variant for China, set to release on September 2, with pre-orders starting on August 26.
