Samsung unveiled its latest flagship smartphone at the start of this month, and all signs have pointed towards a success. New reports now show that the Galaxy Note 7 has recorded 200,000 pre-orders until now in Korea, double the number reported for the Galaxy S7.

Samsung released the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge earlier this year, and the smartphones took the market by storm with their powerful specs and highly attractive design. Now it seems that the company has hit another home run with the Galaxy Note 7.

Their latest flagship has managed to double initial pre-orders recorded by the Galaxy S7 in South Korea, Samsung's home country. Pre-orders have been live for only a couple of days now, but it seems that the Galaxy Note 7 has already recorded the highest-ever pre-order figure for a Galaxy phone.

Samsung will release the Note 7 internationally on August 19

The information has been made public by Korea Herald, which mentions that Samsung's aggressive marketing campaign has also played a major role in attracting new customers.

Indeed, Samsung has released multiple commercials in South Korea and all over the world in order to draw attention to the new flagship. The company also operates 2,800 Note experience zones, compared to 2,000 for the Galaxy S7.

Aside from this, the South Koreans are also offering a Gear Fit 2 worth $177 upon the purchase of a Note 7. What's more, the company will also pay 50% of repair costs if the screen breaks and offer customers a 100,000 won gift card that can be used at Samsung Pay Mall.

Aside from the promotional offer, the Galaxy Note 7 is still a very attractive smartphone with its iris scanner, enhanced S Pen, new Grace UX interface, and many other features. The handset shares some specs with the Galaxy S7 edge, not to mention the similarity in design.

The Galaxy Note 7 will be released internationally on August 19, and customers in South Korea can pre-order it for the price of $895.
