This is the second gradient version of the S9

While all the eyes are now on the Galaxy S10 expected to go live in just a few months, Samsung keeps refreshing the Galaxy S9 with more exterior treatments, and this time it looks like what we’re getting is a second gradient version.

If you’ve been following the mobile news closely, you probably noticed that gradient colors are the new big thing on smartphones, and more and more manufacturers bring such looks to their devices.

Samsung hasn’t been the pioneer of this push, but the company did embrace the idea, so earlier this year, it launched the so-called Ice Blue gradient color for the Galaxy S9. Ice Blue was specifically aimed at the Chinese market, with no plans to bring it elsewhere.

And now it appears that Samsung isn’t done with gradient versions of the S9, as the company has recently put on display a model with a different shade of blue.

As tweeted by leakster Ice Universe, the so-called Galaxy S9 Polaris Blue does come with another shade of blue, though any other specifics remain secret for the time being.

There’s a chance this particular model would only be aimed at the South Korean market, so once again, international buyers won’t be getting any gradient version of the S9. Samsung hasn’t even announced this visual facelift though, so it’s hard to tell at this point if the company is indeed limiting the model to just one market or it plans to launch it in more markets worldwide.

On the other hand, there is a good chance that these gradient versions would be offered on the Galaxy S10 too. The next S flagship is projected to see daylight at some point in early 2019, and at least one gradient color would be included, if not at first, then later throughout the year, possibly in the summer.
