Similar colors could make their way to the Galaxy S10

Samsung has just announced a new color version for the Galaxy S9 that’s believed to provide us with an early look at what the Galaxy S10 color lineup may look like at the launch in early 2019.

Called Ice Blue, the new version is the first gradient color that makes it to the Galaxy S lineup. Samsung, however, has released similar colors on other models before, including on the Galaxy A9, and now the company is expanding this idea to more devices.

This approach for making gradient colors available across its product portfolio could continue in the coming months ahead of the Galaxy S10 series debut, which itself may feature multiple versions based on this design idea.

In the meantime, this Ice Blue version of the Galaxy S9 arrives just at the right time. Sales of the Galaxy S9 are believed to be more or less below expectations, and the new color may reignite interest in this device, despite most people waiting for its successor.

For now, there’s no similar color on the Note 9, which is Samsung’s most recent flagship product.

Exclusive to the Chinese market

Also, the Ice Blue Samsung Galaxy S9 is available exclusively in China, and there’s no word as to whether Samsung wants to release it elsewhere or not. It would be a shame to keep it exclusive to China, though, especially as the device seems to boast a rather exquisite appearance that could help increase sales in other markets too.

In China, the Ice Blue color option is available for 5,499 Chinese yuan (approximately $800) on the Galaxy S9 and for 6,499 Chinese yuan (around $950) on the Galaxy S9+.

There are no other changes in terms of hardware on the Ice Blue version, so the only thing you get is this special look that others, like Huawei, have already embraced earlier this year.
