Earlier this year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy J7 (2016) with mid-range specs and a design that fits in with the Galaxy J series. Today, the company has unveiled a variant of the Galaxy J7 (2016), the Galaxy J7 Prime. The smartphone has been showcased in Vietnam.

Specs and images of the Galaxy J7 Prime leaked out earlier this month, and they seem to have been confirmed. The handset is already available on Samsung’s Vietnamese website, and it carries a price tag of about $280.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime seems to come with an octa-core 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 chipset and comes with 3GB of RAM, as opposed to 2GB on the Galaxy J7 (2016). In addition, the phone sports a 5.5-inch FHD display and a battery capacity of 3,300mAh, the same as on the Galaxy J7 (2016).

The new handset also comes with 32GB of internal memory and the option to expand using a microSD card, while rear camera capacity reaches 13MP with f/1.9 aperture. You can also count on an 8MP camera on the front with f/1.9 aperture. The device measures 151.5 x 74.9 x 8.1mm and comes boasts connectivity options like WiFi b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass.

The Galaxy J7 Prime comes in black and gold color variants

The smartphone is available in two color variants, either black or gold. Galaxy J7 Prime comes with a more powerful front camera compared to the J7 (2016), aside from the fact that it also has more RAM and internal storage.

However, the Galaxy J7 (2016) was available in rose gold as well, aside from white, black, and gold color variants. The Galaxy J7 Prime also comes with a metal body, 2.5D screen with Gorilla Glass 4, and a fingerprint sensor.

There’s no information if Samsung will actually make this smartphone available to other markets as well, but for now, the device is available in Vietnam.
