The latest regards the fact that Samsung might have changed its mind and decided not to launch a flat, non-edge screen variant of the handset.
The information comes from Korea Herald, and it suggests that Samsung intends to launch a new device in the Galaxy Note series, one that would have a dual-edge curved display.
The report quotes a source that stated Samsung might not launch a flat screen version of the Note phone, meaning that fans should only expect a dual-edge curved variant.
The Galaxy Note 7 will be unveiled during an event in August
The Galaxy Note 7 is expected to debut on August 2, during an event held in New York. In fact, the image of an event invite leaked last month, and it revealed that Samsung intended to launch an edge variant of the device.
In fact, there was no word on the South Korean company actually unveiling a Note 7 with a flat screen. However, a few days ago, the product code of a Galaxy Note 7 device was spotted on Samsung’s website, which spiked rumors that two variants would be released.
That being said, this is merely a rumor, and there’s no official information at this point to indicate that Samsung will, in fact, stick solely with the dual-edge version for the Note 7.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is expected to pack a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED 1440x2560 QHD display and a Snapdragon 823 chipset. It should also have 6GB of RAM and feature a rear camera that has 12MP and f/1.7 aperture. The handset should also have a 4,000mAh battery and boast IP68 dust and water resistance. It is also expected to have an iris scanner.
