Samsung pushed out another beta update to units in China

Samsung completed the Galaxy Beta program for testing the Nougat update last month, and a few days ago, we reported that the company already started rolling out the official Android Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge.

Well, it appears that Samsung has run into a bit of a hiccup and halted the rollout to S7 phones due to critical bugs. The Android Soul caught wind that Samsung stopped the rollout in China and pushed out another beta release carrying the build number

G9350ZCU2ZQA4.

Galaxy S7 edge phones in China will be receiving the beta update soon, as it seems that Samsung hasn’t quite ended the Galaxy Beta program in the country. The Nougat beta update appears to have a size of 213.30 MB and brings new power saving modes, aside from stability fixes and performance improvements. It’s difficult to say at this point if Galaxy S7 and S7 edge units from other countries are affected by the halt.

20 new features and visuals in 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy S7

The Android 7.0 Nougat software update was expected to bring about 20 new features and visuals to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, some of which are included in beta versions. Samsung also added shortcuts to its proprietary apps and the multi-window mode that any phone with Android 7.0 should have. Another feature that Samsung is expected to introduce is a tool for adjusting the display resolution in order to save battery and boost phone performance.

It’s unknown at this point what bugs or issues prompted the company to halt the Android 7.0 rollout in an entire country, but perhaps they’re tangentially connected to the issue that HTC recently encountered. HTC recently began the 7.0 Nougat rollout to HTC 10 smartphones with a considerable delay, only to halt the process a few days later and announce that it encountered some issues. The HTC 10 will receive the software update in three weeks’ time, but it’s unknown when Samsung will push out 7.0 Nougat to units in China.
