Although it's clear that Samsung won't bring its flagship smartphone at Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this week, there's no reason not to talk about the Galaxy S8/S8+.

We reported earlier today about the improved version of the flagship, the Galaxy S8+, which is supposed to boast a huge 6.2-inch curved-edge display. Now we have more details about the standard Galaxy S8, courtesy of the folks over at TechnoBuffalo.

At first glance, there are few differences between the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ spec-wise. The list of the specifications has just one thing that's not common to both devices, the size of the screen.

As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy S8+ will sport a massive 6.2-inch display, whereas the Galaxy S8 has been confirmed to pack a slightly smaller 5.8-inch Quad HD+ display.

Despite the fact that Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come with larger displays than the Galaxy S7 edge, they are that much larger due to the thin bezels.

Aside their displays, there aren't any differences between S8 and S8+

When it comes to hardware, there are no mentions of any chipsets, but we do know for sure that both phones will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor.

However, since Samsung recently announced its Exynos 9 Series 8895, there's a high chance that some versions of the Galaxy S8/S8+ will pack this particular SoC (system-on-chip) inside.

Just like the Galaxy S8+, the standard model includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory (expandable via microSD card). Samsung Pay and wireless charging are supported as well, along with Samsung Knox security solution.

The smartphone will run Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, and it will come with earphones tuned by AKG in the retail package.

The 12-megapixel dual pixel camera on the Galaxy S7 edge has been improved and included in the new Galaxy S8. In the front, Samsung added an 8-megapixel selfie camera and an iris scanner. As expected, the smartphone features IP68 dust and water resistance.

Both Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ phones will be announced on March 29, but they won't go on sale until April 21. Pre-order time hasn't been decided yet, but it's likely to begin at least one week before the phones hit the shelves.
