As August approaches, more and more information on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7 seems to emerge. Now, it appears that the Galaxy Note 7 Edge variant will be coming with dual lens camera, according to SamMobile. However, at this point this is simply a mere rumor.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Edge variant might be coming with dual lens camera in the back. Samsung seems to have finally settled on the name and decided to skip one generation number to go straight to Note 7.

The reason why the Galaxy Note 7 will succeed the Galaxy Note 5 regards the fact that the company’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S7, carried the 7 moniker and the upcoming Apple smartphone will also be called the iPhone 7. Thus, Samsung wishes to avoid any confusion among consumers regarding the latest devices released to the market.

The Galaxy Note 7 isn’t the only smartphone that could incorporate dual lens on its 12MP rear camera, Apple’s iPhone 7 might also come with the same feature.

The Galaxy Note 7 edge could have an iris scanner

Rumors on the Galaxy Note 7 have been floating around the Internet for quite some time now, one from last month regarded the fact that Samsung trademarked the Galaxy Iris and Galaxy Eyeprint in the EU, Korea and US. The leak fuelled speculation that the Note 7 edge might be coming with an iris scanner, but that remains to be seen.

So far, rumors say that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will come with a 5.8-inch Slim RGB display, together with Quad HD resolution and 4,000mAh battery. It could have another cheaper version of the flagship, the Galaxy Note 7 Lite but nothing is set in stone yet.

The Galaxy Note 7 edge could be a quite impressive smartphone, since it is said to come with 6GB of RAM, USB Type-C charging and a new Type-C compatible Gear VR headset. At its core, it should carry Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 823 SoC and come with IP68 certification.
