Samsung is rumored to launch the next Galaxy Note device during the week starting August 15 and the South Korean company might skip over a generation number and name the next device in the series Galaxy Note 7. Now, it seems that the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 will also have an Edge variant, as the device appeared on customs import website, Zauba.

The import listing reveals that the Galaxy Note 7 will be coming with a curved-screen version. However, the information isn’t definitive, considering that the actual phone didn’t enter India, but only a metal mask for mobile phone production line. The model name carries the code name SM-N935G, which is open to interpretation.

The Zauba listing priced the metal mask at $120 and it’s used in the production of integrated circuits for the touchscreen and other parts of the phone.

The current Galaxy Note 5 has the model number SM-N920, the Galaxy S7 is SM-G930, while the Galaxy S7 edge is SM-G935. The logical interpretation is that the SM-N935 is the next Galaxy Note 7. However, there’s still a chance that the SM-N935 could actually be the Lite variant of the Galaxy Note 7.

Galaxy Note 7 could come in mid-August

The Zauba listing doesn’t provide any information on specs for the upcoming Galaxy Note 7, but previous rumors indicate to a 5.8-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. The smartphone should come with Snapdragon 823 SoC under the hood and 6GB of RAM.

It might also have 256GB of internal storage and a 12MP rear camera. Front camera capacity should reach 5MP and Samsung might decide to get IP certification for the first time in the case of a Galaxy Note series device.

The Galaxy Note 7 could come with an iris scanner and a 4000mAh battery. Samsung is rumored to unveil the Galaxy Note 7 during the week starting August 15, but the date has yet to be confirmed.
