14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung is working on the successor to last year’s Galaxy J7 (2016), which featured 2GB of RAM and a 3,300mAh battery inside, aside from the 5.5-inch display. Press renders of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 (2017) recently leaked, revealing the design of the new smartphones and some quite appealing color options.
The press renders of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 (2017) were posted by Roland Quandt and show the upcoming smartphones in multiple color options, including black, blue and pink.
Moreover, the images show a new design for the antenna lines on the back, different from last year’s models. The rear camera is visible on the back, together with the LED flash and Samsung’s branding underneath. The frame will be made out of metal and the Galaxy J7 (2017) will have a 13MP on the back, while the front sensor will have the same capacity.
The Galaxy J7 (2017) is expected to cost $380 in Europe
The Galaxy J7 (2017) is rumored to come with 3GB of RAM and a 3,600mAh battery, while the display size will stay the same as last year’s model, specifically a 5.5-inch screen with Full HD resolution. In addition, it will run an octa-core 1.6GHz processor and will probably run Android Nougat out of the box. It will also come with a fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical home button on the front panel.
The release date is unknown at this point, but rumors say that the Galaxy J7 (2017) will most likely cost about €340 ($380) in Europe. It’s also worth mentioning that this model is the base variant of the J7, quite different from the Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J7 Prime which recently made their way to the US.
That being said, the Galaxy J7 (2017) and Galaxy J5 (2017) should arrive in June, the same month when the Galaxy S8 Active is expected to make its debut at AT&T in the US. The Galaxy J5 (2017) is said to feature an octa-core Exynos 7870 and 2GB of RAM, together with a 5.2-inch AMOLED display and 3,000mAh battery.
