Samsung intends to release three smartphones in the Galaxy J mid-range this year, and the Galaxy J3 (2017) already surfaced at carriers in the US. Now, specs and press renders of the Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017) were revealed in a report.

Aside from the Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J7 (2017), Samsung will also announce the Galaxy J5 (2017) this June, with a price tag of about €279. The smartphone will be introduced in Europe, but it should make its way to a number of other markets.

In terms of design, the Galaxy J5 (2017) appears to have a rather premium look with a metal body and improved design, same as on the Galaxy J7 (2017). The corners seem a bit curvier than on last year’s model, while the camera setup on the back now features the LED flash below the sensor.

3,000mAh battery and 2GB of RAM

The Galaxy J5 (2017) seems to feature specs quite suitable for a mid-ranger, with a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor and 2GB of RAM, same as on last year’s Galaxy J5. Internal storage is 16GB with the option to add more using a microSD card.

There’s not much change in terms of display size, the screen is a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED which supports HD resolution. The rear camera stays at 13MP capacity with f/1.7 aperture, while the selfie shooter also features a 13MP lens with f/1.9 aperture. The phone will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and feature a 3,000mAh battery.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 (2017) will both feature fingerprint scanners embedded into the home button, while camera sensors on the J7 have also been improved. The Galaxy J7 (2017) will also come with a full metal body and will offer 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while its battery capacity will reach 3,500mAh. Moreover, the phone will have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display and come with a price tag of €339.
