The dual-SIM smartphone will make its debut very soon

One of the cheapest Android smartphones launched by Samsung, Galaxy J1 has been released back in January. The handset seems to be totally uninspiring and very low-specced, so it would be quite fortunate for Samsung if the Galaxy J1 would prove to be popular.

Ever since the Galaxy J1 made its debut on the market, Samsung planned to launch multiple variations of the smartphone.

For example, a 4G version of the Galaxy J1 was introduced a few months later, along with two other smartphones like Galaxy J1 Pop and Galaxy J1 Ace.

However, one smartphone that hasn't been released yet, but we've previously learned about, is the Galaxy J1 Mini. The smartphone appeared at Zauba, a company that tracks India's import and export, but did not make its debut on the market yet.

Today, SamMobile reports the Galaxy J1 Mini was spotted at Bluetooth SIG where the smartphone received its certification. This is just another step that brings the handset closer to release.

Even if the Galaxy J1 Mini passed Bluetooth SIG certification, we still don't know when exactly Samsung will launch the smartphone on the market.

A slightly better version of the Galaxy J1

If you're not familiar with the Galaxy J1 Mini specs, here is a quick rundown of its specs from previous rumors.

First of all, the low-end smartphone comes equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

Although there's no mention of microSD card slot, we can safely assume the Galaxy J1 Mini will pack one, so users will be able to expand storage.

Also, Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 480 pixels resolution. It will also pack a 5-megapixel camera on the back and another VGA camera in the front.

There's no mention of 4G LTE support, but we do know the smartphone will offer dual-SIM support, and it will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.
