14 DAY TRIAL // The most recent Samsung launch in the smartphone category, Galaxy A9 will soon be available for purchase in China. Although the Chinese version is likely to be cheaper than the international model, at least we now have a clue about the phone's pricing.
According to a document leaked directly on Weibo (via fonearena), Samsung Galaxy A9 will cost 3,199 yuan outright, which is about $495 or €450.
Even though it costs less than $500, the price might be slightly high for some consumers that would rather add $100 and buy a flagship smartphone instead.
However, the Galaxy A9 comes with pretty decent specs, including a very large display and quite enough amount of memory.
The Galaxy A9 was officially introduced in China a little while ago, but it did not make its debut in other countries. We expect that to change next year, but until then let's take a look at what the phone has to offer regarding specs.
Huge display and massive battery
Samsung's most expensive Galaxy A series smartphone boasts a huge 6-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.
The phablet comes equipped with a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.
Also, the Galaxy A9 packs 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.
At the back, the phone features a 13-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, OIS (optical image stabilization) and video recording. There's also a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front that can capture full HD (1080p) video.
Connectivity-wise, Samsung Galaxy A9 offers both 4G LTE and dual-SIM support, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with AGPS support and FM Radio.
The Galaxy A9 doesn't come preloaded with Marshmallow onboard, but ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop right out of the box. It's also powered by a large 4,000 mAh battery.
