The smartphone will hit shelves on September 9

Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 7 on August 2, during the Galaxy Unpacked event held in New York. The smartphone is projected to be released on August 19 in the US and on September 2 in Europe, but it seems that Samsung has decided to postpone the launch in the Netherlands and some other countries.

Samsung has announced on its Twitter account that the launch date for Galaxy Note 7 will be postponed in the Netherlands, from September 2 to September 9. Basically, the South Korean giant is pushing the release date by one week, although pre-orders in the country haven't even been live in the country, so Samsung couldn't have sold out its quota. The Galaxy Note 7 will be made available in multiple colors in the Netherlands, including Black Onyx, Titanium Silver, and Blue Coral.

At this point, it's unknown if other countries in Europe will see a postponed release date as well, but one report suggests that they might. Techtastic has revealed that the other two countries in the Benelux Union might also see a postponed release date for the Note 7, from September 2 to September 9. This means that Belgium and Luxembourg could also see the delay.

Samsung has also delayed the release date in Malaysia

Just yesterday, Samsung announced that it decided to delay the Note 7 release date in the country because of supply constraints. However, pre-orders for the smartphone have been live there for several days, and customers who placed an order until August 10 will still get their devices on time. The release date has yet to be announced for Malaysia, but it's believed to be sometime in early September.

It might seem that Samsung didn't anticipate the demand for the Galaxy Note 7 would be so high in certain markets, as the smartphone doubled initial pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 during just two days since pre-orders were made live.

Pre-orders in Canada have also been outstanding, as one company exec stated, with the Blue Coral model being among the most popular.

It remains to be seen if Samsung will delay the release date in other European countries as well, as the US will most likely remain a priority market, as expected.
