One of the main trends in the smartphone market today is bigger screens and more room for displaying content. However, a recent leak shows that at least one manufacturer might be considering returning to a smaller display, but provide equally powerful specs on its upcoming smartphone.

From previous TENAA listings, we know that Xiaomi is working on the upcoming Redmi 3A smartphone with a 5-inch display. However, now it seems that the company might also be working on a smartphone with a smaller screen but very powerful specs.

The information comes from Phandroid, which also released an image of the upcoming smartphone. The rumor mentions that the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone will come with a screen of just 4.3 inches, but pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820.

The display could have a resolution of 720p resolution. It could also have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone is said to come with a fingerprint sensor and a 13MP rear camera.

The smartphone could come with a fingerprint sensor

The post also mentions that the Xiaomi could come with a front glass panel and the fingerprint sensor should be placed below the display. The smartphone should also come with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. The 4.3-inch display should also have a 341pi and the website even offers a possible price for the phone, approximately $272.

If the rumor is correct, then Xiaomi will have smartphones with displays ranging from 4.3 inches to 6.44 inches, as found on the Mi Max, released last month.

The information should be taken with a grain of salt, since it’s quite surprising that a top smartphone manufacturer would challenge market trends and release a smartphone with a screen display of just 4.3 inches.

However, if all other specs are confirmed, the Xiaomi smartphone would be quite appealing for users who want smaller phones that pack very powerful specs.
