Xiaomi has definitely keeping itself busy, after launching the Mi Max and MIUI 8 earlier this month. Now, it seems that the smartphone manufacturer is working on a new phone in the Redmi series. Xiaomi Redmi 3A has recently showed up on TENAA, the Chinese equivalent to the U.S. FCC, Federal Communications Commission.

MyDrivers reported that Xiaomi Redmi 3A was certified by TENAA and it will come with a 5-inch display but only 720x1280 HD pixel resolution. It will also have a Snapdragon 435 chipset, with octa-core CPU clocked at 1.4GHz. The processor will be paired with Adreno 505 graphics processing unit.

Redmi 3A will feature 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It’s expected to come with microSD slot for expanding the internal memory.

The smartphone might have a 13MP camera in the back and a 5MP selfie shooter in the front, for taking pictures or handling video calls. It should also have a fingerprint scanner at the back and the smartphone could run Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box.

Redmi 3A will be available from China Mobile and it will support VoLTE. The smartphone will come with Cat.7 LTE modem and 802.11ac Wi-Fi adapter. It will be available in Silver and Gold colors.

Xiaomi Redmi 3A could go on sale for less than $100 in China

Battery capacity seems to be the most impressive feature on this new smartphone, Xiaomi intends to equip Redmi 3A phones with 4000 mAh batteries. However, rumors say that the smartphone might be priced at $91, which is pretty cheap for a phone that has such a powerful battery.

Still Xiaomi could equip the upcoming phone with such a battery capacity, since the Redmi 3 launched a couple of months ago, comes with some nice specs and an even more powerful battery of 4,100mAh, all for about $105. It also came with Snapdragon 616 and Adreno 45 GPU.
