Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC is off to a rocky start, but the studio is determined to fix all the issues that have been preventing players from playing the game or get the full experience. A new update is about to hit Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC today, Rockstar announced, which is supposed to address a significant number of issues.

Some of the fixes included in the update will be deployed to the Rockstar Games Launcher and some to the game itself. The upcoming update will also address some ongoing problems with the game stuttering that a small number of Red Dead Redemption 2 PC players are still experiencing.

Apparently, these stuttering issues are caused by “unforeseen issues related to specific combinations of Nvidia graphics drivers, Nvidia GPU cards and certain CPUs,” Rockstar claims. We did notice that a 2GB patch went live earlier today, but can't confirm yet that it fixes all the issues Rockstar mentioned in the announcement.

The developer said it has teamed up with Nvidia to try and completely resolve the stuttering issue in a future update, so the 2GB patch that's now available for download doesn't address this one, as Rockstar confirmed that it may take up to a few days to properly test everything and ensure the next update completely solved the issue.

But not all is bleak for Red Dead Redemption 2 players, as Rockstar announced that as a show of gratitude to its PC fans, while it's sorting out these issues in the coming days, everyone who plays Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC this week and through to the holiday season will receive a complimentary care package for Red Dead Online that includes the Prieto Poncho and some provisions and ammo. We can confirm that the rewards are already available, so you can boot up the game to redeem everything.
