The sequel to Ground Shatter’s FPS (first-person shooter), RICO is finally making its debut in less than a month, publisher Numskull announced early today. Although it was originally slated for a June release, RICO London is now expected to drop on September 2 instead.

The cel-shaded buddy cop FPS will launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam), confirmed developer Ground Shatter. Sadly, the physical release of the game has been canceled probably due to lack of resources which will now go into the extra time developers need to polish the game.

As the name suggests, RICO’s sequel takes players to London where take control of Detective Inspector Redfern who finds herself at the scene of an emerging arms trade. The game can be played solo or with a partner, something that will certainly appeal to a larger audience.

All levels are procedurally generated, so players won’t have the same experience twice. At the end of each level, you’ll be able to upgrade your character with a selection of random items and further enhance your upgrades with effects to make them more effective.

The graphic-novel art style, Borderlands-like, is the first aspect many players will notice. RICO London features an arcade-style gameplay and various game modes, including Story, Classic, Hardcore, and daily play.

The main goal of the game is to reach the top of a high-rise tower stacked with gangsters. You’ll be crashing through doors, dodge bullets and turn the weapons of the enemies that you kill into your personal arsenal.

Not to mention that developer Ground Shatter promise a compelling storyline with exhilarating gameplay to match it. That sounds like a recipe for success, so we can’t wait to try this one out when it launches in less than a month.
