The sequel to the original RICO takes the action to London

RICO, the first-person shooter developed by Ground Shatter and launched back in 2019 didn't make waves. The PC version of the game sits at 58 average score on Metacritic and the “mixed” reviews on Steam seem to agree that this isn't something revolutionary despite the pleasantly cartoonish graphics.

Anyway, it looks like developer Ground Shatter and publisher Numskull have decided to turn this into a franchise and give it another go. RICO London is the sequel of the original FPS released two years ago, and from what we understand, it will launch this June.

RICO London is a co-op shooter that, as the name suggests, takes players to London where players are going after the city's gangs. Keep in mind that this isn't a traditional first-person shooter, but more akin to other genres like strategy and arcade.

The story is set in 1999 during New Year's Eve. While everyone is getting ready to party, the metropolitan police are on the job. You play as Detective Inspector Redfern who finds herself at the scene of an emerging arms trade without the permission of her superior or support for back-up.

In RICO London, you'll have to quickly clear rooms of gang members dodging bullets and turning the weapons of fallen enemies into your personal arsenal. Yes, this game requires a little bit of planning and a lot of finesse, but if you're into this genre, then RICO London should be right up your alley.

According to publisher Numskull, RICO London will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch in June. Considering the first game was available via Steam, it would make sense for the sequel to make Valve's digital distribution platform its home once again. Just don't look for it on Steam, it hasn't been listed there yet.
