Samsung is expected to release the refurbished variant of the Galaxy Note 7 this summer. The smartphone will be made available in a number of countries, but unfortunately, the US and Canada aren’t on the list.

At this point, Samsung has yet to confirm the retail name of the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, and some say that the phone will be marketed under the Galaxy Note 7R name, while other reports point towards the Galaxy Note FE name, with FE standing for Fan Edition.

A recent report from Korea reveals the upcoming smartphone will be made available in exactly four color options, the same as the Galaxy Note 7. Specifically, the refurbished variant will arrive in Black Onyx, Blue Coral, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium options.

The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 will feature the letter R on the back

The Galaxy Note 7R or FE variant will have an R stamped on its back, as to indicate that it’s in fact a refurbished variant and not the original model. Internally, the refurbished phone will have almost the same specs as on the Galaxy Note 7, which was discontinued late last year.

This means that it will most likely run Samsung’s Exynos 8890 CPU and have 4GB of RAM. It will also feature a 5.7-inch display and come with a 12MP sensor on the back, with LED flash, OIS and phase detection autofocus.

Moreover, the smartphone will have support for USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack, aside from the S Pen stylus. The main difference is in terms of battery capacity - the original Galaxy Note 7 featured a 3,500mAh battery, while the refurbished variant will come with a 3,200mAh juicer.

Fast charging will be available on the phone, together with the latest Android Nougat version. The recent report also says that the refurbished Galaxy Note FE might arrive at the beginning of July, but “volume may vary greatly depending on the supply.”
