Anuman Interactive, a successful software publisher and owner of the Microïds brand and portfolio, recently announced the first part of “Egypt: The Prophecy”, an adaptation of the PC game reworked entirely for the iPhone and its features.

Anuman Interactive has successfully adapted Microïds PC games in the past for iPhone and iPod Touch, such as “Dracula: The Path of the Dragon.”

The newly announced “Egypt: The Prophecy” is an adaptation of the PC game, not an identical version of it, as many elements have been changed to create a game more suited to the iPhone and to a mobile environment.

This Point & Click adventure game has been split into 3 chapters to take into account the lavishness of the game and its incorporated platforms.

In “Egypt: The Prophecy – Part 1”, the player takes on the role of Maya, a young magician, which has been ordered by Ramses II to look into some strange accidents that occur at the site of the Great Obelisk, a construction for the glory of the god Amon Ra.

Players are to fight against evil spells and magic charms and resolve numerous riddles to complete their mission.

Stéphane Longeard, Anuman Interactive’s CEO, explains: “With ‘Egypt’ we are continuing along the path that we have set out on; that is, to adapt Microïds titles for new electronic devices – and all this on an international level.”

“Looking at the quality of the script for ’Egypt‘ and the adaptation created, we are hoping that this title will find its audience on the iPhone and iPod Touch, just as ‘Dracula’ did before it,” Longeard said.

Some of the key features of the game include: High-definition graphics and animations; A user-friendly inventory system; A large number of riddles to solve; Varied sound environments and bewitching music; Two additional languages available (French and German).

While the first release of the game is available in French, English and German (text and voice), it seems that the developer plans to launch an update shortly, that will include Spanish and Italian languages.

Egypt: The Prophecy – Part 1” and “Egypt: The Prophecy – Part 2” are currently available from the AppStore, while “Egypt: The Prophecy – Part 1” will be officially launched on August 30th.

The games can be bought for $3.99 each and are compatible iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices, running iPhone OS 3.0 or later.
