The game could be technically played on an Xbox 360 dev kit

More details about a cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront III have surfaced only once more, and it looks like more details have again been leaked.

Even if technically Star Wars: Battlefront III never officially existed, details about this game have been revealed in the past few months to show us that it was actually real. We wrote a few months ago about Star Wars: Battlefront III and about the fact that it was built by a studio named Free Radical Design.

The studio was later bought by Crytek, which got them to work on Homefront: The Revolution. Since that license was bought by Deep Silver, the studio and the people who activated there went their separate ways.

It is now clear who’s leaking all of this info, but someone on Reddit just posted a lot more than just some video and screenshots. A somewhat playable build also surfaced, but it was quickly taken down by the Reddit mods.

Playable on Xbox 360 dev kits

The build that was posted today on Reddit could be run on Xbox 360 devs kits, and more than a decade after the launch of that console, it’s safe to say there are quite a few of those in the wild.

Unlike the current iteration of Dice’s Star Wars Battlefront, the canceled title had more in-depth mechanics, would allow for missions that started from planets and ended up in orbit, and included many more unique characters like a few known Jedi, Ewoks, and even the Jar Jar Binks. To top it all off, it even had a single-player campaign.

The community's overall feeling seems to be that it was a better game than what we got in 2015, but it’s difficult to judge since they come from different eras. Until now Disney hasn’t had any kind of reactions regarding the recent leaks.
