Qualcomm hinted a few days ago that its brand new Snapdragon 821 chipset would be inside the upcoming OnePlus smartphone, which somewhat confirmed rumors about a new flagship coming from the Chinese company this year.

We're going to refer to it as OnePlus 3T, but this might or might not be the final name of the flagship. What we do know for sure is that it will pack improved hardware over the current OnePlus 3 smartphone.

Aside from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, which should be slightly more powerful than the Snapdragon 820 included in the OnePlus 3, the upcoming flagship will also feature a supposedly better 16-megapixel camera with Sony IMX398 sensor.

If you've been waiting for a sign from OnePlus to let you know that the 3T is real, then you'll be pleased to know the Chinese company announced a launch event for November 15.

The handset maker has recently released a teaser that mentions the date and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, so we're expecting a new smartphone reveal next week.

It will be interesting to see whether or not OnePlus plans to offer some incentives to those who've already bought its current flagship. The OnePlus 3T will cost around $480 ($80 more than the OnePlus 3), but it will offer only a few improvements over the OnePlus 3.

However, we still don't know if OnePlus will choose a Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) display this time, since the OnePlus 3 sports a 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. What we don't expect is for OnePlus to drop the Optic AMOLED display, its own take on AMOLED screens.

Other than that, the OnePlus 3T should pack the same amount of memory, 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage, and a similar 3,000 mAh battery with Dash Charge technology.
