OnePlus released the OnePlus 3 “flagship killer” earlier this month, and the company decided to ditch its invite system so that it could make the smartphone available to a broader range of consumers. OnePlus chose to allow fans to pre-order the device from its website, but it seems that orders for the UK have experienced some delays.

Last month, OnePlus announced that it would organize pop-up sale events after the launch of OnePlus 3 in major cities around the world. These events allowed fans to purchase the handset directly from the company.

One of such pop-up event was organized in London, and the company was quite pleased with the turnout, as it stated on a post on the OnePlus forum. Fans who couldn't make it to the pop-up pre-ordered the device from the manufacturer's website, but it seems that OnePlus has been experiencing some rather disturbing delays with the shipment of OnePlus 3 units.

OnePlus is giving out vouchers to make up for the delay

As it turns out, the company has mentioned in the post that the demand for OnePlus 3 units in the UK “has been above and beyond what any of us expected initially.” The company apologizes for the delays and mentions that there has been a “schedule misalignment between devices and accessories in the UK.”

Customers have received vouchers for £8 (€10) off their next order and waived shipping fees so that they could purchase accessories that they didn't initially receive.

OnePlus has also mentioned that the company experienced some delays from its factory and that outstanding orders will be shipped by Thursday. Customers who have experienced delays for two weeks will be contacted by email and receive a voucher for £16 (€20) and free shipping for their next order.

Considering that this is the first time that OnePlus has gone with pre-orders, instead of an invite system, it's quite understandable that the company would have some issues with delayed orders. OnePlus at least made an effort to address the problems and offer customers vouchers to compensate for the whole situation.
