As the release date for the OnePlus 3 approaches, OnePlus continues to heavily promote its upcoming flagship and come up with various surprises for fans. OnePlus has thus announced that it will be organizing pop-up events for fans to try out the phone and purchase it.

The pop-up events will be organized in 7 cities from around the world, right after the launch event. The cities are New York, London, Paris, Berlin, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.

Time and venues were disclosed on the company’s website, except for Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bangalore. The events are expected to start on June 15, and it has also been announced that “exclusive swag” will be available then.

OnePlus has made the decision to give up on the invite system, which it had implemented in past flagship releases. For the launch of OnePlus 3, the company will offer access to anyone to purchase the device. In fact, it even organized a flash-sale yesterday and offered 1,000 OnePlus 3 units to fans who wanted to buy it before anyone else.

OnePlus 3 will be released in a VR event

The smartphone will be launched during a Loop VR event, which is held entirely in a virtual reality space station, where fans will be able to purchase it.

Just yesterday, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau shared rear camera samples taken with the OnePlus 3, and the images seem to have good focus, detail, and color accuracy. It is to be expected, considering that OnePlus 3 will come with a 16MP rear camera and 8MP selfie snapper.

Other specs include a Snapdragon 820 SoC and a 3,000mAh battery. Fans should be pleased to know that the OnePlus 3 will be available in six variants, the main difference between them being RAM capacity and internal storage size. The phone should run Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with OxygenOS on top.
