OnePlus 3 and 3T are a hit and miss from a software point of view. Both smartphones have been recently updated to Android 7.0 Nougat, but the software update didn't come without flaws.

The good news is the Chinese company is trying to fix all the issues that OnePlus 3 and 3T owners have been complaining about since they updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. Two consequent updates have been released by OnePlus in less than a month since the release of Nougat, which address some of the bugs.

Aside from that, a couple of open beta builds have been released by OnePlus for both handsets, but you would need to register to the beta program if you want to flash these beta updates on the OnePlus 3 and 3T.

If you already did that, then you'll be pleased to know that the second Open Beta for OnePlus 3 and 3T has been released and is now available for download. In case you have already flashed the previous Open Beta build, then you will get the second one OTA (over the air).

Otherwise, you will have to flash Open Beta 2 by ADB sideloading. Keep in mind that your data may transfer, but there's always a possibility of losing personal data, so make sure to back up all your information.

No new features, but lots of optimizations

According to OnePlus, the second beta update, which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat, brings a couple of improvements and optimizations into the mix.

First of all, OnePlus added UI optimizations to both phones, as well as improved shelf customization. The APN settings for select carriers have been updated too.

Also, two known issues have been fixed, one related to the proximity sensor, and another one that prevented users from downloading some apps from the Google Play Store. Lastly, the update should increased system stability.

We're certain that more updates will continue to pour in for both the OnePlus 3 and 3T in the coming weeks, so let's hope the most pressing bugs will be addressed as soon as possible.
