Skype remains one of the most popular applications for messaging and video calls, despite the fact that many others have emerged and started to eat away at its popularity. In order to stay competitive on the market, Skype has introduced a new and much-needed feature in its iOS app, namely offline file sharing and multiple file downloads.

The new feature is aimed at improving file sharing among users, as they can now send files offline. This means that the recipient doesn't necessarily need to be online to receive the files, since they will be made available for download when the user logs into their account.

There's a limit to the size of the shared files, as users can send files, photos, and videos that are up to 300MB in size. The new feature has been announced in a Skype blog post, which also reveals that, if users need to send files that are larger than 300MB, they can use OneDrive service, which offers 5GB of free storage, local sync, and support for Office applications.

Skype has also introduced support for multiple file downloads

Skype will now allow multiple downloads of a file that has been shared in a Skype conversation. This is particularly useful, since it means that users can search for a file in a conversation and download it on multiple devices if needed.

The new offline file sharing service is available in the Skype version 6.19 for iOS. Skype for Android has recently been updated with Material Design for tablets, and the company has also improved call quality and performance on Android tablets, with the application allowing users to multitask faster.

In addition, it introduced a new "invite" button for sending messages to friends and have them join Skype. The app also came with the option to find contacts, chats, groups, and bots much faster. It also comes with the possibility of receiving message suggestions based on the data it gathered from previous conversations.
