Samsung is one of the few companies that has yet to deliver Android 6.0 Marshmallow to its high-end smartphones. That's quite a negative achievement considering the fact that Samsung is world's largest mobile phone vendor.

The good news is the South Korean company has started the rollout of the long-awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.

We reported last week that the update is available in South Korea, but the rollout should start in Europe very soon as well.

Even so, Galaxy S6 owners will still have to wait a couple more weeks since the update is pushed in batches, so not everyone will get it at the same time.

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S6, and you're still stuck on Lollipop, then here is what you've been missing all this time.

The folks over at SamMobile have got their hands on the Consumer Consultant Guide that highlights the changes included in Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.

New functions for Galaxy S6 edge, minor UI improvements

The official document is meant to teach Samsung employees about the different new features and improvements that will be added to both smartphones once the global rollout starts.

Aside from the usual Android 6.0 Marshmallow features like Doze and advanced control for permissions, the update will also bring dynamic audio, as well as video rendering and synchronization.

Also, support for the MIDI audio protocol is mentioned in the guide as well, along with some of the subtle changes made to the lock screen. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will also allow Galaxy S6 owners to open links inside the messaging application through the in-app browser.

Samsung Galaxy S6 edge owners should be pleased to know their smartphone will get new features to the notification system and lock screen. Check out the gallery below for more details on the changes Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring to Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge.
