14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung Android 6.0 Marshmallow update roadmap soap opera is close to an end as the South Korean company has just kicked off the rollout in South Korea.
We reported countless of times about the upcoming release of Marshmallow for various high-end Galaxy smartphones, but Samsung did not offer any official information on the matter, but also did not deny any of these reports.
In fact, Samsung has been mum on Android 6.0 Marshmallow update since the new version of the operating system has been officially introduced by Google.
The South Korean company has been recently sued in the Netherlands for not providing enough information about software updates, security vulnerabilities, or the updates themselves.
Naturally, Samsung doesn't really care about that, and it's still silent on any Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its Galaxy lineup.
The good news, at least, is that two Samsung smartphones have started to receive Marshmallow upgrades, SamMobile reports.
The update is available after a brief beta program
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are now eligible for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in South Korea. The handset maker launched a few weeks ago a beta program for this particular update but said the testing would end on February 18.
But Samsung did not need too much time to finish the Marshmallow build, so it has decided to start the rollout this week.
For the time being, South Korea is the only place where Android 6.0 Marshmallow is available for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, but we suspect more countries will get the update in the next couple of weeks.
Also, we can safely assume Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ will be the next smartphones to receive the update.
Unfortunately, it's still unclear which mid-range Galaxy smartphones will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and it's unlikely that Samsung will announce anything for that matter.
