As expected, ZTE has announced the upcoming availability of the Nubia Z11 mini, its latest high-end smartphone powered by Android OS.

After making the rounds at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, and various benchmarks, the Nubia Z11 mini has finally been revealed in China.

According to ZTE, Nubia Z11 mini will go on sale in China via JD on April 25. Customers will be able to purchase one for around 1,500 yuan, which is about $230 (€205).

The most interesting aspect as far as ZTE’s high-end handset is concerned is the powerful 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, which features a Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, phase-detection autofocus, as well as something called 3D noise reduction.

ZTE also claims the phone’s camera can shoot pictures in RAW DNG format, as well as up to 12,800 ISO without added noise.

But that’s not the only impressive feature included in the Nubia Z11 mini. The smartphone comes with an additional 8-megapixel camera on the front that features 1.4µm pixels and 80 degrees lens with f/2.4 aperture.

Sadly, it comes with Lollipop instead of Marshmallow

Under the hood, the Nubia Z11 mini packs a decent enough octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, coupled with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM. It also includes 64GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card slot.

ZTE also places a fingerprint scanner on the back cover. It’s also worth mentioning that the smartphone sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

Also, the Nubia Z11 mini is powered by a 2,800 mAh battery, which hasn’t been rated by the manufacturer. It comes with both 4G LTE with oLTE and hybrid dual-SIM support, as well as other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C port, and GPS with AGPS.

Design-wise, the device features a full metal body and is about 8mm thin. The only downside seems to be the fact that it ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, but let’s hope ZTE will provide a Marshmallow upgrade soon after release.
