All stock depleted in a matter of minutes

Nokia 6 remains one of the hottest mid-budget smartphones in China, having sold out in less than a minute during its first flash sale.

Come January 26, the second flash sale of the Nokia 6 didn't last long either, as the stocks depleted in a matter of minutes.

The Nokia 6 is only available in China exclusively through major retailer JD.com. The smartphone costs just $245 and is available in black, the only choice of color for the Nokia 6.

Unfortunately, for the time being, it's unclear whether or not the smartphone will remain a Chinese affair, but that won't really matter in the long run.

HMD Global is expected to reveal a couple of new products next month at Mobile World Congress (MWC), which are likely to be launched globally in a matter of weeks.

The Finnish company hasn't announced its smartphone plans outside of China, but now that it managed to establish a solid foothold in one of the world's biggest markets, we believe it's time to go global.

The first thing HMD Global should do is launch a Nokia-branded flagship smartphone, followed by a mid-range handset that would be available for purchase worldwide. The Nokia 6 might remain China-exclusive, but new smartphones can take its place in other countries, so it's a win-win situation.

With more than 1.4 million registrations at JD.com, interest for Nokia smartphones proves to be astounding. It will be interesting to learn how many Nokia 6 units the Finnish company managed to sell during its two flash sales.

Probably not many, but we're hoping HMD will be able to keep the hype around its smartphones high for enough time to sell a bunch of Nokia 6 units in the coming weeks.

Speaking of which, a third flash sale for the Nokia 6 will probably take place very soon, but an exact date hasn't been disclosed yet.
