Video game developer Hello Games and iam8bit are announcing that they plan to deliver a special Explorer's Edition for the coming No Man's Sky, which is designed to include some extras for the most dedicated fans of the open-world galactic exploration title.

The package will feature a copy of the retail version of the title, a Traveller Pin that's made from hard enamel, a diorama display backdrop, and a rad box and a special mystery item that will only be revealed when the title is launched.

But the big draw for the Explorer's Edition of No Man's Sky is the cast metal ship replica, which is painted by hand and has extra customization options, with its value estimated at 125 dollars or Euro.

The announcement explains that "Seriously, this isn't your average, run-of-the-mill resin statue! It's actual metal - involving a much more complex production process, harkening back as far as the 1900s (when tin toys were all the rage). Trust us, holding this cold, metal beauty in your hands is immensely satisfying. It's a true labor of love."

The two companies are saying that Austin James is the designer of the package, and only 10,000 units of the Explorer's Edition will be offered.

No Man's Sky is set to arrive on the PlayStation 4 and probably the PC on June 21 of this year.

Hello Games plans to offer post-launch support for its ambitious title

The announcement of the launch date features some more information from Sean Murray, one of the leaders of Hello Games, including the fact that his team has more ideas about the future of the title and might introduce new features after launch.

No Man's Sky will cost 60 dollars or Euro when it arrives, and gamers can choose between a downloadable version and a retail package that's created in collaboration with Sony.

Hello, Games is also announcing that the title will feature some new hazardous worlds that will require more resources and care on the part of players who are looking to explore them.

There are also plans to create entire alien races that gamers can meet as they explore the universe and communicate with, although no information about their design or intentions has been revealed.

No Man's Sky is a game focused on exploration, which will use a set of mechanics to create a procedurally generated galaxy that will offer unique moments to each player.
